Sweetheart Abbey is situated South of Dumphries in the Scottish borders, it is a wonderful and tranquil spot, we called there for the second time during August 2000.  The Abbey as a long and chequered history and compared to many Abbeys the ruins are quite considerable.  

The actual village where the abbey is is also a very beautiful spot with tea rooms, novelty shops and an old water mill.
