IRONBRIDGE

Ironbridge is situated on the River Severn near Telford, the bridge in the photograph as lent its name to the town that grew up around it.  The bridge as its name suggests is made of iron and infact this was the first bridge of its kind to be built in the world, it was completed in the late 18th century.

The bridge and the surrounding area is now a World Heritage site.  We visited it during June 2001.
