We visited Deal Castle
during August 2000. The castle was built in the 1500s
under the orders of Henry 8th. It was one of several
improvements to coastal defences that were made during this
period on the South coast of England. The castle is in
a remarkable state of condition, and is under the
guardianship of English Heritage.
Pictured in front of the castle are back row Laura, David,
Joanna (cousin). Front row Richard and Robert. |
