We visited the Dan-yr-ogof
caves in South Wales during June 2001. They are situated south
of Brecon in the Brecon Beacons.
The photo is of a waterfall within Cathedral cave, one of the
three caves that we went into.
The cave system in this hill side is immense and well worth a
visit. I found it amazing that the caves themselves had not been
discovered until the early 20th century. The stalagmite
and stalactite formations are absolutely breath taking in
places. The caves are still getting explored with extra
passages been found all the time.
There is also a dinosaur park within the grounds which I feel
is certainly an hit with the younger generation. |
